Our Mission

At Uncle Rod’s Doghouse, we are dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment for your furry family member. Our mission is to ensure every pet feels loved and cared for when you are unavailable.

Meet Uncle Rod

Hi, I’m Rod. I’m a proud deaf man and lifelong animal lover.  


For years, I cared for my own hearing-ear dog and now I am the proud owner of my sweet rescue dog, Eldon. I bring that same love to every furry family member under my care.  


I will always provide updates via photos and written communication.

Your furry family member’s home away from home:


  • $35/day – 1 dog, no special needs
  • $40/day – 1 dog, with medication or special attention
  • +$10/day – Each additional dog


Updates via text + cozy home environment included. (No overnight stays)

Tail-wagging walks at your convenience:


  • Dog's Neighborhood (30 mins) – $20 for 1 dog, +$10 per extra dog. (1 hour) starting at $30/dog (Maximim 2 dogs at a time)
  • Dog park or natural area like Nose Hill Park (1.5 hours including travel time) $40 per dog (Maximum 2 dogs)

Caring for your cats in your home, while you're away:


  • Within 20km from my home – $20 including travel time
  • From 21km to 50km from my home – $40 including travel time


Includes litter box changes, feeding + watering + snuggles.

     Rod is an absolutely wonderful, caring dog walker, and I feel so lucky to have found him. He takes my boy out three times a week—rain, snow, or shine—and I never have to worry about a thing. When the weather is very hot, he even adjusts the schedule and comes early so my boy doesn’t get overheated. He brings only treats that I have pre-approved to use for training, and rewards, always carries fresh water on warm days, and is diligent about bringing poo bags.

    What really sets Rod apart is how thoughtful and attentive he is with my boy. He is patient, careful, and clearly understands dogs. Our furry family member gets so excited the moment he sees Rod arrive—it’s obvious how much he enjoys their walks together.

     We are owners of 2 friendly golden retrievers. When we went on vacation to India for 22 days, Rod took care of our dogs. He regularly sent us update pics. Dogs were regularly taken on walks and well brushed. They came back as even better pets.

    To secure your booking, a deposit will be required.  Your booking will be confirmed once the deposit has been received. Payment by etransfer.
